The aforementioned steroid has a good anti-inflammatory effect with lower potential to produce Cushing syndrome compared to other similar synthetic corticosteroids. The rare and little heavy to use under the scheme employed secondary manifestations not determined the dose reduction and even less treatment discontinuation.Se ha utilizado la fluocortolono, derivado sintético de la corticosterona, en una sola dosis matinal como medicación corticoidea coadyuvante junto con el tratamiento tuberculostático, en 12 pacientes con pleuresía serofibrinosa, 4 con meningitis y 2 con siembre miliar de origen tuberculoso: terapia combinada que permitió una rápida remisión del componente exudativo inflamatorio, de la sintomatología, de las alteraciones radiológicas, así como una disminución del tiempo de hospitalización. El mencionado esteroide posee un buen efecto antiinflamatorio con una menor potencialidad para producir síndrome de Cushing en comparación a otros corticoides de síntesis similares.
