Danzer's proposed as a simple method for assessing the cardiac enlargement in cephalometric, Cardio-Thoracic index is to measure the transverse diameter of the heart in the classic and usual way and then the maximum transverse diameter of the chest radiograph in the same; aucerdo with the author of the transverse diameter of the heart must not exceed 50% of the diameter of the thorax in normal conditions, appreciating heart enlargement by increasing the percentage of its diameter relative to the thorax.En el presente trabajo presentamos los resultados obtenidos en la determinación del Indice Cardio-Torácico de Danzer, porque ofrece un interés particular, tanto por los datos paradójicos que se han constatado, cuanto porque ha permitido confirmar el ensanchamiento de la caja torácica de los habitantes de la altura, que ha sido ya señalado por otros autores.
