The factor analysis shows three factors: Social interaction initiative, Ability for social interaction with peers and Ability to social interaction with teacher. The test shows construct and content validity, its reliability is 0.950, differences by age and the corresponding table of rates is presented.El objetivo de esta investigación es construir y validar psicométricamente una prueba para evaluar la competencia de interacción social de niños de 3 a 6 años, en contextos preescolares. La construcción de la escala se basa en la teoría de interacción social en la infancia de Kelly (1987). La muestra la conforman 400 niños preescolares de diversos niveles socioeconómicos de Lima metropolitana. El análisis factorial arroja tres factores: Iniciativa para la interacción social, Habilidades para interactuar socialmente con sus pares y Habilidad para interactuar socialmente con la maestra. La prueba cuenta con validez de construcción y de contenido; su confiabilidad, en términos de consistencia interna, es de 0.950.
