Results showed 90, 75 and 66% of fish Dormitator latifrons, Mugil cephalus and Lebiasina bimaculata were infested with Anisakis parasites in larval stage L3, respectively. In addition, 50 and 25% of D. latifrons and M. cephalus, respectively, presented larvae of this parasite in the liver and visceral cavity. On macroscopic inspection, the Anisakis spp larva is observed spirally attached to the liver or disseminated in the intestines. Microscope images show the penetration tooth and the mucron, specific characteristics in the identification of Anisakis larvae. The present study is a first report of the presence of Anisakis spp in freshwater species.El objetivo del presente estudio fue establecer la presencia de parásitos Anisakis spp en peces de agua dulce en el humedal El Paraíso, en Huacho, Perú, debido a parasitismo masivo observado en estudios previos de identificación de comunidades acuáticas. Los parásitos fueron muestreados en tres especies comunes en el humedal. El 90, 75 y 66% de de peces Dormitator latifrons, Mugil cephalus y Lebiasina bimaculata estaban infestados con parásitos Anisakis en estadio larval L3, respectivamente. Además, el 50 y 25% de D. latifrons y M. cephalus, respectivamente, presentaban larvas de este parásito en el hígado y en la cavidad visceral. A la inspección macroscópica, la larva Anisakis spp se observa enrollado en espiral adosado al hígado o diseminado en los intestinos. Imágenes de microscopio muestran el diente de penetración y el mucrón, características puntuales en la identificación de larvas Anisakis.
