For this reason, the objective was to review the theoretical conceptions and educational practice of the use of heritage to revalue its use as an educational resource and as an identity element, recognizing the importance of heritage education, whose strategies and methods use heritage as a resource. didactic. In this study, the method used is descriptive documentary research and narrative review is used; This includes research that demonstrates the topic since the creation of the term, its evolution, use, contributions and a look at a near future in which it is included in educational institutions. Among the main results, it is considered that the teaching of heritage should be included in the curricular programs of educational institutions, since, although there are courses related to history, they are not enough, because they do not cover all the heritage wealth. This is a transversal resource that can be included in the various curricular areas, as demonstrated by the literature reviewed. Its relevance lies in the fact that heritage education promotes the acquisition of emotional, reflective and critical skills, favoring the comprehensive development of students.

Su definición se relaciona con el valor que le brindan las personas que se sienten identificadas con ellos. Por este motivo se trazó como objetivo una revisión de las concepciones teóricas y la práctica educativa del uso del patrimonio para revalorar su uso como recurso educativo y como elemento identitario, reconociendo la importancia de la educación patrimonial, cuyas estrategias y métodos utilizan al patrimonio como recurso didáctico. En este estudio el método utilizado es la investigación documental de tipo descriptiva y se hace uso de la revisión narrativa; esta incluye investigaciones que evidencian el tema desde la creación del término, su evolución, uso, aportes y una mirada a un futuro cercano en el que es incluido en las instituciones educativas. Entre los principales resultados se considera que la enseñanza del patrimonio debería estar incluida en los programas curriculares de las instituciones educativas, pues, aunque existan cursos relacionados con la historia, no son suficientes, porque no abarcan toda la riqueza patrimonial. Este es un recurso transversal que puede incluirse en las diversas áreas curriculares, como lo demuestra la literatura revisada.
