The sample consisted of 56 directors from the various functional units of the university. It was used instrument used was a questionnaire to measure the variable leadership, with 24 items, as well as the variable administrative management, with 24 items, using the Likert scale (always, sometimes, and never). Results: It was found that there is a significant correlation between administrative management and leadership, which are highly correlated (rs = 0.816; p = 0.000 < 0.05); as well as the variables teamwork and planning in administrative management are moderately correlated (rs = 0.463, p = 0.000 < 0.05); the variables organization and execution in administrative management are highly correlated (rs = 0.738, p = 0.000 < 0.05) and the variables decision making and evaluation of results in administrative management are moderately correlated (rs = 0.654, p = 0.000 < 0.05). Conclusions: Leadership has a significant relationship with administrative management at the institutional level.Objetivo: Relacionar el liderazgo y la gestión administrativa de los directores de las áreas operativas en la Universidad Nacional del Callao (Perú), al 2022. Materiales y métodos: El estudio fue de enfoque cuantitativo, descriptivo, aplicativo y contó con un diseño no experimental, correlacional, prospectivo y transversal. Se consideró como muestra a 56 directores de las diversas unidades funcionales de la universidad. Se utilizó como instrumento un cuestionario para medir la variable liderazgo, con 24 ítems, así como la variable gestión administrativa, con 24 ítems, mediante la escala de Likert (siempre, a veces y nunca). Resultados: Se encontró que existe una correlación significativa entre gestión administrativa y liderazgo, las cuales están correlacionados altamente (rs = 0,816; p = 0,000 < 0,05); así como las variables trabajo en equipo y planificación en la gestión administrativa están correlacionadas moderadamente (rs = 0,463, p = 0,000 < 0,05); las variables organización y ejecución en la gestión administrativa están correlacionadas altamente (rs = 0,738, p = 0,000 < 0,05) y las variables toma de decisiones y evaluación de resultados en la gestión administrativa están correlacionadas moderadamente (rs = 0,654, p = 0,000 < 0,05).
