Is important to point out the artistic elements in Washington's poetryDelgado taking into account the contribution of literary theory as an instrument to enrich current criticism; Thus, the theory of argumentationallows us to know the poetic strategy of the author through the use of persuasive categories in his poetry.Se ha podido observar que los estudios críticos en torno a la poesía de Wáshington Delgado se orientan fundamentalmente a ubicarlo en el grupo de la Generación del 50, en relación con sus libros publicados. La crítica literaria ha seguido la trayectoria vital y productiva de Delgado, valorando y revalorando de alguna manera su discursividad poética. Es importante señalar los elementos artísticos en la poesía de Wáshington Delgado teniendo en cuenta el aporte de la teoría literaria como instrumento para enriquecer la crítica actual; así, la teoría de la argumentación nos permite conocer la estrategia poética del autor a través del uso de categorías persuasivas en su poesía.Observou-se que os estudos críticos sobre a poesia de Washington Delgado estão fundamentalmente orientados para colocá-lo no grupo da Geração dos 50, em relação aos seus livros publicados. A crítica literária acompanhou a vital e produtiva carreira de Delgado, valorizando e revalorizando de alguma forma a sua discursividade poética.
