Descripción
Sumario:The cultivation of the potato is a food of the first order in the human diet that for its cultivation a series of factors intervene such as soil and water, especially the latter of vital importance, for which there is even a worldwide mentioned phrase "without water there is no life ”, so it is necessary to dose the amount of water that the crop needs for its development and normal performance, in order to do so, it was proposed to carry out the present research work in order to determine the total water demand for this culture. The work was carried out in the fields of the training demonstration center of the “La huaycha” irrigation project in the Orcotuna district of the Concepción province, Junín department - Peru, in two agricultural campaigns. The main objective was to determine the coefficients of consumptive use (Kc) for the cultivation of potatoes in conditions of the Mantaro valley for a better management of irrigation water.
