Managerial leadership in basic education in the Latin American region

The phenomenon of globalization and the pandemic of COVID 19 have caused substantial changes in basic education institutions at Latin America, which requires managers to become strategic managers of progress in the educational field. The objective of this research was to investigate about the managerial leadership in basic education at Latin American region and identify current post-pandemic trends. For the analysis it was used a interpretative-reflective method of the bibliographic sources. As a result, it was found that the main thematic trends addressed in the research have been the leadership of the director, good management practices, educational management, and educational change. It was found that the leadership of the director is decisive in educational institutions, in addition it is necessary to adapt educational management to changing environments that is mainly linked to technological development. These results show that it is necessary to promote managerial leadership in educational institutions to achieve the quality and suitability of basic education in Latin American region.
