Sumario: | The main objective of the research was to establish the relationship between personality traits, suicidal ideation and sociodemographic characteristics in two populations of university students from Lima, 2020. The approach used was the quantitative, non-experimental research method, type of research applied, with a descriptive correlational-comparative design. The study sample consisted of 211 students of both sexes, belonging to two universities, one of management, private and the other of public management in Lima, enrolled in the Academic Semester 2020-I. The Reduced Personality Inventory of Five Factors (NEO-FFI) by Paul Costa (Jr.) & Robert McCrae (2008), the Suicidal Ideation Scale by A, Beck, M, Kovacs and A. Weissman (2004) were applied to them. and a sociodemographic file. The results obtained indicate that there is a moderate positive relationship between personality traits, suicidal ideation and sociodemographic characteristics in the two study samples. Likewise, significant differences were found between personality traits and suicidal ideation according to sociodemographic characteristics in both samples. |
