A parallel was drawn between the 2015-II and 2024-I periods, comparing economic, demographic, and institutional aspects. A descriptive methodology was used, using a survey instrument that corresponded to a sample of 15.2% of the enrolled student body. The above shows that a significant proportion of the students who responded were between 22 and 35 years old, indicating a young adult population. However, the 17-21 age group showed a significant increase. Likewise, a representative percentage is seen in the variable "Scholarship from a third party" (46.0%), which can be awarded with the current national government aid through the Free Tuition Policy, better known as zero tuition.En esta investigación se propuso comparar diversas variables en estudiantes de pregrado en modalidad a distancia-virtual, matriculados en una Institución de Educación Superior (IES). Para ello, se tomó como referencia a los educandos de la Facultad de Estudios a Distancia (FAEDIS) de la Universidad Militar Nueva Granada (UMNG), estableciendo un paralelo entre los períodos 2015-II y 2024-I, en el cual se analizaron aspectos económicos, demográficos e institucionales. Se aplicó una metodología descriptiva, utilizando la encuesta como instrumento de recolección de datos, aplicada a una muestra equivalente al 15,2 % de la comunidad estudiantil matriculada. Los resultados mostraron que una proporción importante de los alumnos encuestados se encontraba en el rango de edad de 22 a 35 años, lo que evidenció que se trataba principalmente de una población adulto-joven. No obstante, el grupo de 17 a 21 años registró un incremento significativo.
