description The objective of this study was to evaluate the impact of the intervention program on male reproductive health through the development of citizenship competencies in adolescents from basic education institutions. The research design was quasi-experimental, with a pretest-posttest approach. The sample was made up of 21 male students. The following results were obtained: male sexual and reproductive health dimension, the highest percentage of achievement was achieved in the emotional competencies “I get angry when they make fun of the size of my penis” and in the communicative competency “I debate with my friends when they speak falsehoods about the use of condoms. In the dimension of risks in male reproductive health, the highest percentage of achievement corresponded to emotional competence "when I refuse to consume some type of drug, rejection of my decision does not affect me." In the practical dimension of abortion, the highest percentage of achievement was obtained in the communicative competence “I talk to my environment about the risks a woman runs when she has an abortion.” In the patriarchal stereotypes dimension, the highest percentage of achievement was obtained in the communicative competence “I talk in my environment about the risks of machismo on our reproductive health.”

El diseño de la investigación fue cuasiexperimental, con un enfoque preprueba-posprueba. La muestra estuvo conformada por 21 estudiantes varones. Se obtuvieron los siguientes resultados: dimensión salud sexual y reproductiva masculina, el mayor porcentaje de logro se alcanzó en las competencias emocionales “me enfado cuando se burlan del tamaño de mi pene” y en la competencia comunicativa “debato con mis amigos cuando hablan falsedades sobre el uso del condón”. En la dimensión de riesgos en la salud reproductiva masculina, el mayor porcentaje de logro correspondió a la competencia emocional “cuando me niego a consumir algún tipo de droga, no me afecta el rechazo por mi decisión”. En la dimensión práctica del aborto, el mayor porcentaje de logro se obtuvo en la competencia comunicativa “hablo con mi entorno sobre los riesgos a los que corre una mujer cuando aborta”.
