description Objective. To establish the influence of gamification on the improvement of communication skills in primary school students. Methods. The quantitative approach and design were quasi-experimental. The study involved 80 students divided between the control group and the experimental group. The inferential statistic applied was the Mann-WhitneyU test. Results. In the experimental group, 90% of the students in the pretest were at a defcient level, and only 10% were at a regular level. However, after the application of gamification, 78% of the students reached an excellent level, 20% a good level, and only 3% remained at the regular level. The Mann-Whitney U statistic showed a bilateral significance of0.000. Conclusions. Gamification influences the improvement of communication skills in primary school students; this is because, through gamification, the student interacts with their peers, communicating in different ways with the intention of overcoming the challenges presented by the game.

En el estudio participaron 80 estudiantes divididos entre el grupo control y el grupo experimental. La estadística inferencial aplicada fue la U de Mann Whitney. Resultados. En el grupo experimental, el 90 % de los estudiantes en el pretest se encontraban en un nivel defciente y solo el 10 % en nivel regular; sin embargo, luego de la aplicación de la gamificación, el 78 % de los estudiantes pasó a un nivel excelente, el 20 % a bueno y solo el 3 % al nivel regular. El estadístico U de Mann Whitney presentó una significancia bilateral de 0,000. Conclusiones. La gamificación influye en la mejora de las habilidades de comunicación en estudiantes de nivel primaria; esto se debe a que, mediante la gamificación, el estudiante interactúa con sus compañeros, comunicándose desde sus diferentes formas de hacerlo con la intención de superar los retos planteados por el juego.O objetivo do estudo foi estabelecer a influência da gamificação na melhoria das habilidades de comunicação em alunos do ensino fundamental. Foi registrado que o grupo experimental melhorou de 90% no nível ruim para 78% no nível excelente.
