Instruments used were the Index of Learning Styles of Felder and Silverman and the questionnaire of Study Habits and Motivation for Learning (SHML). Results.They showed a visual learning style (76.9%), followed by sequential style (70.4%), active style (66.7%) and verbal style (23.1%). In addition, students that showed a good level of study habits were 54.6% (59), followed by 38.9% (42) at a very good level, and a lower number of students (6 and 1) were placed in regular and excellent levels, respectively. The average academic performance of the students distributed was: in a bad level 38.9%, in a regular level 50.9%, and at a good level 10.2% Conclusion. There is a positive relationship between learning styles and academic performance. There is also a positive relationship between study habits and academic performance. A positive correlation was determined between learning styles and academic performance variables, with a recording of Pearson correlation coefficient of 0.3 and a p <= 0.002. It was equally positive in the case of the correlation between study habits variables of and academic performance, where a Pearson correlation coefficient of 0.3 and a p <= 0.005 was obtained.

El estudio fue descriptivo, con enfoque cuantitativo y diseño correlacional. La muestra fueron 108 estudiantes seleccionados por un muestreo probabilístico. Los instrumentos empleados fueron el inventario de estilos de aprendizaje de Felder y Silverman y el cuestionario de hábitos de Estudio y Motivación para el Aprendizaje (HEMA). Resultados. Los resultados evidenciaron un estilo de aprendizaje visual (76,9 %), seguido por el secuencial (70,4 %), el estilo activo (66,7 %) y en el estilo verbal (23,1%). Los hábitos de estudio que los estudiantes emplearon en un 54,6% (59) fue de nivel bueno de manejo de hábitos adecuados para aprender, seguido por un 38,9 %, alcanzó un nivel malo (42) ubicados en un nivel muy bueno. El promedio de rendimiento académico de los estudiantes, en un nivel regular el 50,9 %, y en el nivel bueno el 10,2 %. Conclusión. Existió relación positiva entre los estilos de aprendizaje y el rendimiento académico; existiendo también relación positiva entre los hábitos de estudio y el rendimiento académico, dado que se determinó la correlación positiva entre las variables estilos de aprendizaje y rendimiento académico, con el registro de un coeficiente de correlación de Pearson de 0,3 y una p <=0,002; la cual es igualmente positiva en el caso de la correlación entre las variables hábitos de estudio y rendimiento académico, donde se obtuvo un coeficiente de correlación de Pearson de 0,3 y una p <= 0,005.Objetivo. Para determinar a relação entre estilos de aprendizagem, hábitos de estudo e desempenho acadêmico dos estudantes universitários. Métodos. O estudo foi descritivo, com uma abordagem quantitativa e projeto correlacional. A amostra consistiu de 108 estudantes selecionados por amostragem probabilística. Os instrumentos utilizados foram o inventário de estilos de aprendizagem de Felder e Silverman e o questionário Habits of Study and Motivation for Learning (HEMA). Resultados. Os resultados mostraram um estilo de aprendizagem visual (76,9%), seguido por sequencial (70,4%), ativo (66,7%) e verbal (23,1%). Os hábitos de estudo que os estudantes usaram em 54,6% (59) foi um bom nível de gestão de hábitos adequados para aprender, seguido por 38,9%, atingiu um nível ruim (42) localizado em um nível muito bom. O desempenho acadêmico médio dos estudantes, em um nível regular 50,9%, e no bom nível 10,2%. Conclusão.
