The quantitative approach of correlational design was used, for which a census sample of 106 engineering students was used, to whom two Likert scale questionnaires were applied. The results obtained a Spearman correlation of .342. It was concluded that there is a low significant relationship between teamwork and generic skills in Engineering students.La sociedad se encuentra en constantes cambio, de tal manera que exige en el futuro profesionales competentes, capaces de trabajar de forma cooperativa, aportar con conocimiento e innovaciones. El objetivo de este estudio fue determinar la relación entre el trabajo en equipo y las competencias genéricas en estudiantes de Ingeniería. Se empelo el enfoque cuantitativo de diseño correlacional, para lo cual e empleó un amuestra censal de 106 estudiantes de Ingeniería, a quienes se les aplicó dos cuestionarios en escala de Likert. Los resultados obtuvieron una correlación de Spearman de .342.
