An instrument being elaborated based on the theories of Goodman (2002) and Inga (2009); to measure these skills. The implementation of the program was more effective in the ability to solve problems.El estudio se realizó en una Institución Educativa Estatal de la Provincia Constitucional del Callao, Perú, de tipo pre experimental con un solo grupo pre y pos test, tuvo por objetivo determinar la mejora de las habilidades inferenciales de lectura (HIL), a través del diseño y aplicación de un Programa del Método Icónico basado en las evidencias experimentales en el estudio de la comprensión y el aprendizaje (Estaún, 1998; Monge, 1992; Rengifo y Marulanda, 2007), en una muestra de 93 estudiantes que promediaban entre ocho y nueve años de edad. Elaborándose un instrumento basado en las teorías de Goodman (2002), e Inga (2009); para medir estas habilidades.
