They are people young and old, men and women, who convert to these "new churches", to the "sects", and who often meet several times a week to celebrate divine worship."Las sectas fundamentalistas avanzan", denunciaba el arzobispo de la Paz a fines de 1987. En los hechos no se les puede pasar por alto: lo mismo en los más pequeños caseríos que en los barrios marginales de las grandes ciudades, barrios que crecen rápidamente, se ve cada vez con más frecuencia esas pequeñas iglesitas bien pintadas, con nombres como "Asamblea de Dios", "Cristo es la Respuesta", "Iglesia Adventista del Séptimo Día", etc. Ahí se reúnen los creyentes de las comunidades religiosas protestantes.
