Descripción
Sumario:Objectives: Determine the level of social skills in nursing students. Materials and methods: Cross-sectional descriptive study, with a quantitative approach. The population was made up of nursing students. Results: A total of 486 nursing students participated, with ages between 16 and 49 years, with a mean age of 24.88 years (SD = 11.27; Range: 16 to 49). Of the sample, 86.6% (n = 421) were female, 80.5% (n = 391) were single, 59.7% (n = 290) studied and worked. A total of 82.1% n = (399) of the nursing students resulted with middle level of social skills. Conclusions: Nursing students are not fully capable of demonstrating their social skills and will later be affected in the workplace, for this reason it is proposed to implement subjects on social skills or competencies that generate the strengthening of mental health among students.
