Commenting on the management received by this patient, emphasis on management alternatives that possibly prevented the patient had reached the brink of death.A propósito de un caso de una paciente previamente sometida a tratamientos medico quirúrgicos por infertilidad primaria y que desarrolló un cuadro severo de sindrome de hiperestimulación ovárica (SHO) como consecuencia de la aplicación de las técnicas de fertilización in vitro y transferencia embrionaria, se hace una revisión amplia sobre el SHO, su manejo adecuado y cómo prevenirlo.
