From the point of view of tumor biology, it has provided an opportunity to study the tumor guest relations on a "grafted" neoplasia in humans. From the biochemical point of view, it has proven the importance of certain metabolites in a selective way some cancers. The epidemiology and natural history of corioncarcinoma also been studied with renewed interest after advenimento of this therapy.La Quimioterapia de los tumores del trofoblasto ha sido fructífera en varios aspectos. Desde un punto de vista práctico, ha permitido por primera vez la curación de un tumor maligno con el empleo de agentes químicos, cambiando el ominoso pronóstico que tenía el corioepitelioma hace menos de una década. Desde el punto de vista de lo biología tumoral, ha proporcionado la ocasión de estudiar las relaciones tumor huésped en una neoplasia "injertada" en el ser humano. Desde el punto de vista bioquímico, se ha comprobado la importancia de algunos metabolitos en forma selectiva a algunas neoplasias.
