Sumario:Narrative review on the epidemiology of mental health problems related to the COVID-19 pandemic at global, Lat n American and national levels. The need to use probabilistic samples in epidemiological studies to have more real data and to use adequate and uniform methods for the determination of mental disorders is emphasized. The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly affected the mental health of the world's population, particularly those who have suffered a severe illness, increased isolation, and loss of a family member or job positions.
