Descripción
Sumario:The research "Relationship between exposure to oral narratives by parents and comprehensive vocabulary in elementary level children of a public and a private educational institution of Lima Metropolitana", is a work with a quantitative approach and a correlational descriptive design because its primary objective is to establish the relationship between exposure to oral narratives by parents and the level of comprehensive vocabulary of their children, 80 first grade students of a public and a private educational institution. The PEABODY Picture Vocabulary Test -PPVT III and a questionnaire addressed to the parents were used in the process of measuring the variables. Upon completion of the study it was found that there is a significant relationship between the variables exposure to oral narratives and the comprehensive vocabulary; finding better levels of comprehensive vocabulary in students with greater exposure to oral narratives by parents. Also, differences in the level of comprehensive vocabulary in relation to the type of educational institution were recorded.
