Surcosonante es un proceso de creación e investigación que hilvana lo colectivo con lo individual, lo ambiental con lo social, la urbe con sus memorias y el cuerpo con el agua. A través de ejercicios de escucha sonora, cartografías, entrevistas y experimentación material con las fibras vegetales, me interesa abrir un espacio para preguntarnos si aún es posible hablar de comunidad a través del río Surco. El río Surco es un canal prehispánico con más de dos mil años de antigüedad, nace del río Rímac y recorre 29 km por debajo de la ciudad de Lima hasta llegar a la costa del Pacífico. Es el cordón umbilical que alimenta la ciudad, un cordón escondido que aún está vivo. El río nos invita a cuestionar la individualidad y restaurar la conexión con la naturaleza y con el otro; volver al cuerpo y a la experiencia sensorial para abrir la ruta del reencuentro con la memoria. ¿Qué es aquello que nos une como indi viduos? ¿Qué nos separa en una sociedad tan desigual y fragmentada? ¿Cuál es nuestra conexión con esta tierra en estos tiempos tan contradictorios? Este proceso de investigación me ha permitido comprender que necesitamos tomar consciencia de que somos seres interdependientes y que formamos parte de un mismo tejido. Esta tesis es una invitación a escuchar la memoria del río Surco, a resonar con los cuerpos de agua, a tejer comunidad a través del territorio y al re encuentro con el propio cuerpo como un lugar de aprendizaje en donde ocurren todos los procesos anteriores. |

Through listening exercises, cartographies, interviews and material experimentation with plant fibers, I am interested in ope ning a space to ask ourselves if it is still possible to speak of community through the Surco River. The Surco River is a pre-hispanic channel with more than two thousand years old, it is born in the Rímac River and runs 29 km below the city of Lima until it reaches the Pacific coast. It is the umbilical cord that feeds the city, a hidden cord that is still alive. The river invites us to question individuality and restore the connection with nature and with the other; return to the body and to the sensory experience to open the path of reencounter with memory. What is it that unites us as indivi duals? What separates us in such an unequal and fragmented society? What is our connection to this earth in these conflicting times? This research process has allowed me to understand that we need to become aware that beings are inter dependent and that we are part of the same tissue.
