Se realizaron entrevistas a profundidad siguiendo una guía semi-estructurada para explorar sus conocimientos, actitudes y prácticas pedagógicas vinculadas con lo ambiental. Se encontró que predomina una representación del medio ambiente como un espacio local, un espacio contaminado y un espacio de vida. Además, se recogió una actitud ambivalente hacia el medio ambiente. Por un lado, este es valorado como una fuente de bienestar y por otro lado, como una amenaza para los seres humanos al estar contaminado. Dentro de las expresiones del grupo de docentes, se halló relación entre el tema ambiental con el cuidado de la salud física y mental, donde el deterioro del medio ambiente se vincularía a limitadas oportunidades de desarrollo. Por último, se puede inferir que el contexto de trabajo, rural o urbano, influiría en el despliegue de estrategias para integrar el tema ambiental en las escuelas.

Likewise, the content was analyzed according to the work’s zone of the group of teachers, identifying differences between teachers from urban and rural school. In-depth interviews were conducted following a semi-structured guide to explore their knowledge, attitudes and pedagogical practices related to the environment. It was found that predominates a representation of the environment as a local/nearby space, a polluted space and a living space. Moreover, an ambivalent attitude towards the environment was identified. On the one hand, the environment is represented as a home source of well-being and on the other hand, as a threat to humans due to pollution. Among the expressions of the group of teachers, was found relationship between the environmental issue with the care of the physical and mental health, where the deterioration of the environment would be linked to limited opportunities of development.
