Solar photocatalytic degradation of phenol using pyrolitic TiO2 films deposited inside a tubing

Descripción del Articulo

Solar photocatalytic degradation of phenol was obtained using TiO2 films deposited inside glass tubing. TiO2 thin films inside tubing were obtained by spray-gel technique using a titanium isopropoxide solution conveniently diluted in ethanol. The gas carrier flux, air pressure and temperature were k...

TiO2 thin films inside tubing were obtained by spray-gel technique using a titanium isopropoxide solution conveniently diluted in ethanol. The gas carrier flux, air pressure and temperature were kept during deposition at 5 L/min, 200 kPa, and 200 °C, respectively. Experiments were performed using either the solar radiation or a 300 W lamp simulating the UVA solar radiation component. In order to concentrate the radiation a reflective surface was placed in the back part of the tube. The initial concentration of phenol solution was 20 ppm, and the phenol concentration during the experiment was followed using a standard colorimetric method when aminoantipirine reacts in the sample giving a colored complex. The volume of the phenol solution was limited with a solid aluminum rod placed axially to the glass tube. The obtained TiO2 films were amorphous, but after an annealing at 450 ºC for 1 h the films crystallize to anatase structure and present photocatalytic activity. The films morphology observed by scanning electron microscopy presented a uniform film and agglomerates of TiO2, the size of the agglomerates increases as Ti isopropoxide/ethanol molar ratio of the starting solution decreases. The precursor concentration solution and film thickness of TiO2 for phenol degradation was optimized.SOLWATER project ICA4-CT-2002-10001, ASO Project AE 141/2001 / International Science Programme of the Uppsala University.application/pdfengLima (Perú)PEinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessInstituto Peruano de Energía NuclearRepositorio Institucional del Instituto Peruano de Energía Nuclearreponame:IPEN-Institucionalinstname:Instituto Peruano de Energía Nuclearinstacron:IPENFotocatálisisÓxidos de titanioCapas finasRadiación ultravioletaProceso de sol-gelMicroscopía electrónica por barridoSolar photocatalytic degradation of phenol using pyrolitic TiO2 films deposited inside a tubinginfo:eu-repo/semantics/articleORIGINAL_132-137_ SOLAR PHOTOCATALYTIC.pdf_132-137_ SOLAR PHOTOCATALYTIC.pdfapplication/pdf572606https://repositorio.ipen.gob.pe/bitstream/20.500.13054/435/1/_132-137_%20SOLAR%20PHOTOCATALYTIC.pdf156565c19562daff73630b9a97c58bb3MD51LICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain; charset=utf-8103https://repositorio.ipen.gob.pe/bitstream/20.500.13054/435/2/license.txt7ecf7b0639239de61a3a1ede9c397fecMD52TEXT_132-137_ SOLAR PHOTOCATALYTIC.pdf.txt_132-137_ SOLAR PHOTOCATALYTIC.pdf.txtExtracted texttext/plain18435https://repositorio.ipen.gob.pe/bitstream/20.500.13054/435/3/_132-137_%20SOLAR%20PHOTOCATALYTIC.pdf.txte2cba7ad75165e58577110a76a8a1b01MD53THUMBNAIL_132-137_ SOLAR PHOTOCATALYTIC.pdf.jpg_132-137_ SOLAR PHOTOCATALYTIC.pdf.jpgGenerated Thumbnailimage/jpeg24082https://repositorio.ipen.gob.pe/bitstream/20.500.13054/435/4/_132-137_%20SOLAR%20PHOTOCATALYTIC.pdf.jpg610b2de76192d89342efeaee237286efMD5420.500.13054/435oai:repositorio.ipen.gob.pe:20.500.13054/4352022-02-07 18:06:39.833Repositorio Institucional del Instituto Peruano de Energía Nuclearrepositorio@ipen.gob.peU2UgRGlzdHJpYnV5ZSBiYWpvIHVuYSBMaWNlbmNpYSBDcmVhdGl2ZSBDb21tb25zIEF0cmlidWNpw7NuLU5vQ29tZXJjaWFsLVNpbkRlcml2YXIgNC4wIEludGVybmFjaW9uYWwuCg==
