INGEMMET, Boletín, Serie C: Geodinámica e Ingeniería Geológica, 68, 241 p, 9 mapas.https://hdl.handle.net/20.500.12544/2355241 p, 9 mapas.[ENG] The general objective of the study is the contribution to sustainable development in Loreto region, by providing basic and thematic information about the geological problems (mass movements) and geohydrological (inundation and river erosion) that affect them; which will allow an adequate planning of safe places. In addition, alert about urbanized areas exposed to geological hazards, where necessary prevention and mitigation actions must be carried out. The work was carried out through the visual interpretation of Landsat satellite images from 1985 to 2012, Google Earth and aerial photographs; In addition, technique field visits were made. The thematic maps were elaborated at a scale of 1: 100 000 and printed at a scale of 1:1 750 000. The study area belongs to the Sub-Andean Belt and the Amazonian Plain. The Sub-Andean Strip is presented as a narrow chain of hills (mountains, hills and small hills); whose altitudes vary from 400 meters above sea level to 2240 meters above sea level, constituting the eastern foothills of the Andes, and the Amazon Plain, forming an extensive undulating plain, crossed by great meander form Rivers, anastomosed and intertwined aspects. The main geohydrological hazards which affect the region correspond to floods and river erosion. The most notable flood occurred in 2012, the Amazon River surpassed for the first time the historic maximum level of 26 years; that year, 347 communities were flooded; approximately 109 699 homes were affected, of which 8 195 were uninhabitable, 31 destroyed; also, about 27 821 hectares of crops were lost. In the Loreto region, 512 sectors were identified with occurrences of flooding, fluvial erosion and mass movements; of which, 41% corresponds to river flood, 28.7% to the combination of fluvial erosion and flood, 22.5% to fluvial erosion, 1.4% to landslides and 0.4% to landslides. Also, 63 critical zones were identified; the largest amount is located in the provinces of Requena (20), followed by Ucayali (13), Loreto (11), Maynas (10), Alto Amazonas (6) and Mariscal Ramón Castilla (3). The inundations and fluvial erosion, mainly affects populations located on the sides of the rivers; These events are caused by overflowing and changes of the water level of the Ucayali, Huallaga, Marañón, Morona, Pastaza, Tigre, Napo, Putumayo, Yavarí, Amazonas rivers and their main tributaries. For this reason, the flood susceptibility map was elaborated, where five degrees of susceptibility are characterized: very high, high, medium and low or null. The susceptibility to mass movements was categorized into five, with its spatial distribution as follows: 1) and 2) areas of very high and high susceptibility, are found in the Campanquiz mountain range, Cerro Canchahuaya (south east of Orellana), south from the town Santa Elena and bordering the San Martin region; 3) Moderate susceptibility, they are distributed mainly on the eastern side of the Campanchiz mountain range and on the border with the San Martin region; 4) Low susceptibility, in this range of susceptibility, also include susceptible areas to mass movements caused by fluvial erosion that are located mainly on the margins of the Ucayali, Huallaga, Marañón, Amazonas, etc, rivers; and 5) Very low susceptibility, corresponds to flat land with slopes lower than 1 °; related to geoforms of medium terraces, low terraces, dissected plains, complex of ancient banks and swamp systems. Finally, in the present study, some alternatives are proposed for the management of the problems generated by mass movements and inundation in the region. [ESP] El objetivo general del estudio es contribuir con el desarrollo sostenible en la región Loreto, proporcionando información básica y temática sobre los problemas geológicos (movimientos en masa) y geohidrológicos (inundación y erosión fluvial) que afectan a la región. Esto permitirá efectuar una adecuada planificación de lugares seguros, además de alertar sobre las áreas urbanizadas expuestas a los peligros geológicos, donde se deben efectuar acciones de prevención y mitigación necesarias. El trabajo se efectuó mediante la interpretación visual de imágenes de satélite Landsat de los años 1985 al 2012, de Google Earth y fotografías aéreas; además, se realizó visitas técnicas en campo. Los mapas temáticos se elaboraron a escala 1:100 000 e impresos 1:1 750 000. El área de estudio pertenece a la Faja Subandina y al Llano Amazónico. La Faja Subandina se presenta a manera de una estrecha cadena de cerros (montañas, colinas y lomadas), cuyas altitudes varía desde los 400 msnm a 2240 msnm, constituyendo las estribaciones orientales de los Andes, y la Llanura Amazónica conforma una extensa planicie ondulada, surcada por grandes ríos de aspectos meandriformes, anastomosados y entrelazados. Los principales peligros geohidrológicos que afectan a la región corresponden a las inundaciones y la erosión fluvial. La inundación más notable ocurrió en 2012; el río Amazonas superó por primera vez el nivel máximo histórico de 26 años; ese año, se inundaron 347 comunidades; aproximadamente 109 699 viviendas resultaron afectadas, de ellos, 8195 quedaron inhabitables, 31 destruidas; también, se perdió cerca de 27 821 hectáreas de cultivos. En la región Loreto, se identificaron 512 sectores con ocurrencias de inundación, erosión fluvial y movimientos en masa de los cuales el 41% corresponde a inundación fluvial, 28.7% a la combinación de erosión fluvial e inundación, 22.5% a erosión fluvial, 1.4% a derrumbes y 0.4% a deslizamientos. También, se identificaron 63 zonas críticas; la mayor cantidad se ubica en las provincias de Requena (20), seguidos por Ucayali (13), Loreto (11), Maynas (10), Alto Amazonas (6) y Mariscal Ramón Castilla (3). Las inundaciones y la erosión fluvial afectan principalmente a poblaciones ubicadas en las riberas de los ríos; estos eventos, se producen por desborde y cambio de nivel de agua de los ríos Ucayali, Huallaga, Marañón, Morona, Pastaza, Tigre, Napo, Putumayo, Yavarí, Amazonas y sus tributarios principales. Por tal motivo se elaboró el mapa de susceptibilidad a inundaciones, en el que se caracterizan cinco grados de susceptibilidad: muy alta, alta, media y baja o nula. La susceptibilidad a movimientos en masa se categorizó en cinco rangos, siendo su distribución espacial la siguiente: 1) y 2) zonas de muy alta y alta susceptibilidad se encuentran en la cordillera Campanquiz, Cerro Canchahuaya (sur este de Orellana), al sur del poblado Santa Elena y en límite con la región San Martin. 3) Moderada susceptibilidad se encuentran distribuidas principalmente en la vertiente oriental de la cordillera Campanchiz y en límite con la región San Martin. 4) Baja susceptibilidad, en este rango se incluyen también las zonas susceptibles a movimientos en masa causadas por la erosión fluvial que están ubicadas principalmente en las márgenes de los ríos Ucayali, Huallaga, Marañón, Amazonas, entre otras; y 5) Muy baja susceptibilidad corresponde a terrenos llanos con pendientes inferiores a 1°, relacionados a geoformas de terrazas medias, terrazas bajas, planicies disectadas, complejos de orillares antiguos y sistemas de pantanos.
