El método actual utiliza la esperanza de vida proyectada para 2050 y no considera la ponderación por edad ni el descuento por tiempo. Nuestro objetivo es estimar la carga de enfermedad por artrosis de cadera, rodilla y artrosis no especificada utilizando este nuevo método en el Sistema de Seguro Social de Salud del Perú (EsSalud) durante 2016. Métodos: Seguimos el estudio original de la OMS de 1994 y la Carga Global actual de 2015. de la enfermedad (GBD) para estimar los años de vida ajustados por discapacidad (AVAD) debido a la osteoartritis, categorizados por sexo, edad, tipo de osteoartritis y área geográfica. Usamos ponderaciones de discapacidad empleadas por el Ministerio de Salud de Perú y la última actualización emitida por la OMS. Resultados: En general, EsSalud informó 17,9 nuevos casos de osteoartritis por cada 1000 pacientes por año. La incidencia anual fue de 23,7 / 1000 en mujeres y de 72,6 / 1000 en personas mayores de 60 años. La incidencia fue de 5,6 / 1000 para la osteoartritis de rodilla y 1,1 / 1000 para la cadera. Según el método de la OMS de 1994, había 399.884 AVAD o 36,6 AVAD / 1.000 pacientes por año debido a la osteoartritis. Se estimaron 12,4 y 2,2 AVAD / 1000 pacientes por año para la osteoartritis de rodilla y cadera, respectivamente. Con el método GBD de 2015, hubo 1.037.865 AVAD o 94,9 AVAD / 1.000 pacientes por año. Se calcularon 31,4 y 5,3 AVAD / 1000 pacientes por año para la osteoartritis de rodilla y cadera, respectivamente. Conclusiones:En el subsistema del seguro social de salud peruano, la artrosis de cadera, rodilla y no especificada produjeron una alta carga de enfermedad, especialmente en mujeres y pacientes mayores de 60 años. Our aim is to estimate the burden of disease due to hip, knee, and unspecified osteoarthritis using this new method in the Peruvian Social Health Insurance System (EsSalud) during 2016. We used disability weights employed by the Peruvian Ministry of Health, and the last update issued by WHO. Results: Overall, EsSalud reported 17.9 new cases of osteoarthritis per 1000 patients per year. Annual incidence was 23.7/1000 among women, and 72.6/1000 in people above 60 years old. Incidence was 5.6/1000 for knee osteoarthritis and 1.1/1000 for hip.
