The authors are in debt with the reviewers for their useful suggestions to improve this paper.TiO2 aqueous suspensions under illumination of UV range (310-400 nm UV-A) have demonstrated a big potential for water decontamination and disinfection for human consume. Separation of TiO2 from the process is not easy. Supporting TiO2 to a proper substrate avoid the separation step after the photocatalytic treatment. This procedure results very interesting for the manufacturing of economic decontamination devices, which could be made with lightweight and flexible materials, bringing much versatility for the design of reactors for water decontamination. Based on those requirements, supporting TiO2 over polyethylene results ideal for that purposes due to its physicochemical properties, good transparency and low cost. In this work we evaluated different methods to support titanium dioxide nanoparticles onto polyethylene.Consejo Nacional de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación Tecnológica - ConcytecengDe GruyterJournal of Advanced Oxidation Technologiesinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccesswater decontaminationTitanium dioxide-1https://purl.org/pe-repo/ocde/ford#5.07.01-1Titanium Dioxide onto Polyethylene for Water Decontaminationinfo:eu-repo/semantics/articlereponame:CONCYTEC-Institucionalinstname:Consejo Nacional de Ciencia Tecnología e Innovacióninstacron:CONCYTEC#PLACEHOLDER_PARENT_METADATA_VALUE##PLACEHOLDER_PARENT_METADATA_VALUE##PLACEHOLDER_PARENT_METADATA_VALUE##PLACEHOLDER_PARENT_METADATA_VALUE##PLACEHOLDER_PARENT_METADATA_VALUE#20.500.12390/1229oai:repositorio.concytec.gob.pe:20.500.12390/12292024-05-30 15:52:03.703http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_14cbinfo:eu-repo/semantics/closedAccessmetadata only accesshttps://repositorio.concytec.gob.peRepositorio Institucional CONCYTECrepositorio@concytec.gob.pe#PLACEHOLDER_PARENT_METADATA_VALUE##PLACEHOLDER_PARENT_METADATA_VALUE##PLACEHOLDER_PARENT_METADATA_VALUE##PLACEHOLDER_PARENT_METADATA_VALUE##PLACEHOLDER_PARENT_METADATA_VALUE##PLACEHOLDER_PARENT_METADATA_VALUE##PLACEHOLDER_PARENT_METADATA_VALUE#<Publication xmlns="https://www.openaire.eu/cerif-profile/1.1/" id="61e9aa7b-53be-474f-8c5f-a58e0f27b341"> <Type xmlns="https://www.openaire.eu/cerif-profile/vocab/COAR_Publication_Types">http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_1843</Type> <Language>eng</Language> <Title>Titanium Dioxide onto Polyethylene for Water Decontamination</Title> <PublishedIn> <Publication> <Title>Journal of Advanced Oxidation Technologies</Title> </Publication> </PublishedIn> <PublicationDate>2009</PublicationDate> <ISI-Number>269856600009</ISI-Number> <Authors> <Author> <DisplayName>Ponce, S</DisplayName> <Person id="rp01644" /> <Affiliation> <OrgUnit> </OrgUnit> </Affiliation> </Author> <Author> <DisplayName>Carpio, E</DisplayName> <Person id="rp03516" /> <Affiliation> <OrgUnit> </OrgUnit> </Affiliation> </Author> <Author> <DisplayName>Venero, J</DisplayName> <Person id="rp03518" /> <Affiliation> <OrgUnit> </OrgUnit> </Affiliation> </Author> <Author> <DisplayName>Estrada, W</DisplayName> <Person id="rp01889" /> <Affiliation> <OrgUnit> </OrgUnit> </Affiliation> </Author> <Author> <DisplayName>Rodriguez, J</DisplayName> <Person id="rp01477" /> <Affiliation> <OrgUnit> </OrgUnit> </Affiliation> </Author> <Author> <DisplayName>Reche, C</DisplayName> <Person id="rp03517" /> <Affiliation> <OrgUnit> </OrgUnit> </Affiliation> </Author> <Author> <DisplayName>Candal, RJ</DisplayName> <Person id="rp01475" /> <Affiliation> <OrgUnit> </OrgUnit> </Affiliation> </Author> </Authors> <Editors> </Editors> <Publishers> <Publisher> <DisplayName>De Gruyter</DisplayName> <OrgUnit /> </Publisher> </Publishers> <Keyword>water decontamination</Keyword> <Keyword>Titanium dioxide</Keyword>
TiO2 aqueous suspensions under illumination of UV range (310-400 nm UV-A) have demonstrated a big potential for water decontamination and disinfection for human consume.
