We used a creative technique that combined a closed chamber and active monitor, and it was improved by a hermetic sealing method to maintain secular equilibrium well. The results showed radon emission rates as low as below detection limits (BDL) up to 52.3 mBq/kg·h. Our analyses with a 3' x 3' NaI detector found radionuclide concentrations in cement samples by gamma spectrometry. We found a high positive correlation between radium activity concentration and radon exhalation rate. The activity concentrations of 226Ra, 232Th, and 40K differ significantly, with maximum values reaching 60.6, 22.3, and 1074 mBq/kg·h. We consider these results significant for the safety of materials in the Peruvian construction sector. And we also hope that they will provide information to support radiological risk management.application/pdfengLACCEIinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccesshttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/AUTONOMA18reponame:AUTONOMA-Institucionalinstname:Universidad Autónoma del Perúinstacron:AUTONOMABuilding MaterialsRadiological RisksRadionuclideshttps://purl.org/pe-repo/ocde/ford#2.01.00Assessing Radiological Risks and Natural Radioactivity in Building Materials from Ica, Peruinfo:eu-repo/semantics/articleORIGINAL76.pdf76.pdfArtículoapplication/pdf1162037http://repositorio.autonoma.edu.pe/bitstream/20.500.13067/3479/1/76.pdf5a43df0f60444c5c6e19520a75b6816aMD51LICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain; charset=utf-885http://repositorio.autonoma.edu.pe/bitstream/20.500.13067/3479/2/license.txt9243398ff393db1861c890baeaeee5f9MD52TEXT76.pdf.txt76.pdf.txtExtracted texttext/plain42020http://repositorio.autonoma.edu.pe/bitstream/20.500.13067/3479/3/76.pdf.txt46bafd18cfa5363619366c45e9ed8c87MD53THUMBNAIL76.pdf.jpg76.pdf.jpgGenerated Thumbnailimage/jpeg8318http://repositorio.autonoma.edu.pe/bitstream/20.500.13067/3479/4/76.pdf.jpg3c5cd17763181893a7f0af8b1efeae27MD5420.500.13067/3479oai:repositorio.autonoma.edu.pe:20.500.13067/34792025-01-06 16:51:44.592Repositorio de la Universidad Autonoma del Perúrepositorio@autonoma.peVG9kb3MgbG9zIGRlcmVjaG9zIHJlc2VydmFkb3MgcG9yOg0KVU5JVkVSU0lEQUQgQVVUw5NOT01BIERFTCBQRVLDmg0KQ1JFQVRJVkUgQ09NTU9OUw==
