description Para el desarrollo de este estudio se determinó la relación entre la autoestima y el rendimiento académico en estudiantes de dicha institución educativa, La metodología empleada fue de tipo básica, correlacional y de corte transversal, con un diseño no experimental, con 106 estudiantes de primero a quinto de secundaria como muestra. Los instrumentos utilizados fueron el Test de Autoestima – 25 y una escala del Ministerio de Educación para medir el rendimiento académico. En cuanto a los resultados, se encontró que el 65.1% de los estudiantes presenta un nivel de autoestima medio, mientras que un 30.2% tiene baja autoestima. Respecto al rendimiento académico, el 50% de los estudiantes logró un rendimiento previsto, mientras que el 35.8% se encontraba en proceso y solo un 5.7% alcanzó un nivel destacado, concluyendo en que existe una relación inversa débil entre la autoestima y el rendimiento académico en los estudiantes evaluados.
