Adicionalmente, se ha incluido el aprovechamiento de procedimientos e imágenes con el transductor lineal en la evaluación del músculo elevador del ano. Esta revisión describe la aplicación de la ecografía introital en la evaluación del suelo pélvico como método complementario a la evaluación clínica en la incontinencia urinaria y prolapso genital. Adicionalmente, se ha incluido el aprovechamiento de procedimientos e imágenes con el transductor lineal en la evaluación del músculo elevador del ano. Esta revisión pretende ampliar el campo de aplicación de la ecografía en la evaluación del suelo pélvico y mejorar en el especialista ginecólogo las habilidades diagnósticas en uroginecología.
