Este estudio busca contribuir al cuerpo de conocimiento existente mediante la evaluación comparativa de los resultados y efectos adversos de ambos tratamientos en una población neonatal local. Asimismo, los resultados podrían contribuir a orientar la toma de decisiones clínicas basadas en evidencia, optimizando el manejo terapéutico del CAP en servicios de neonatología, con un posible impacto en la reducción de complicaciones y del uso de intervenciones quirúrgicas. Además, los resultados podrán compararse con otros estudios realizados en contextos diferentes, pero también servirá de base para realizar investigaciones prospectivas o metaanálisis que busquen optimizar el abordaje terapéutico del CAP en poblaciones neonatales vulnerables.

Se describe el caso de una lactante con microcefalia, retraso en el crecimiento pondoestatural y de lenguaje, nacida en el Instituto Materno Perinatal en quien se halló un cariotipo 46, XX, r(7) (p22q36) [25]. Los hallazgos fenotípicos observados en el propositus fueron compatibles con los pocos casos reportados en el mundo con cromosoma 7 en anillo.

We present the clinical case of a newborn born at the Maternal Perinatal Institute, who presented at birth, a frontal bilobed encephalocele, without associated commitment, even in our setting we lack multidisciplinary management guidelines that allow a favorable prognosis and evolution.

Introduction. Healthcare-associated infections (IAAS) increase neonatal morbidity and mortality.
