Objective. To determine the relationship between mental workload and emotional exhaustion in collaborators of financial institutions in the Junín region. Methods. The approach was quantitative, basic type, correlational level and non-experimental design. The sampling was non-probabilistic and intentional and the sample consisted of 170 collaborators from 7 financial institutions in the Junín region. The instrument used was the mental workload questionnaire by Gladys González et al. (2009), whose dimensions were: cognitive demands and task complexity, health consequences, task characteristics, time organization and work rhythm. Kendall's Tau-b coefficient was applied to measure the correlation. Results. The mental workload significantly affected the emotional exhaustion variable in collaborators of financial institutions.
