Objetivos: Conocer la prevalencia y analizar los hábitos, actitudes y factores asociados al consumo de tabaco en médicos de un Hospital de referencia nacional de Perú. Materiales y métodos: Estudio transversal analítico; población conformada por médicos de un Hospital de la Seguridad Social. Se realizó una encuesta auto-administrada, la cual evaluó conocimientos y hábitos sobre el tabaquismo. Para el análisis univariado se utilizó distribución de frecuencias absolutas y relativas y mediana con rangos intercuartílicos. Se usó la prueba Chi cuadrado para variables categóricas y regresión de Poisson para el análisis de múltiples variables. Resultados: Se realizaron 318 encuestas, 209 fueron hombres (65,72%) y 109 mujeres (34,28%); la edad media fue 46,43 años con DS ±12,42. Although their study had been neglected due to their apparent rarity, today they constitute a fruitful source for the study of the neurobiological bases of self and ego sense of consciousness. Its etiology, secondary to organicity, consumption of psychoactive substances and primary psychiatric conditions, also allows us to peer into the eventual connections between classical psychopathology and recent findings of the most sophisticated neurobiology. We present the report of two cases of psychogenic etiology, and postulate the heuristic possibility that, on the basis of the increasing frequency of selfies and related concepts in current human life, autoscopic phenomena may also be augmenting.
