A total of 80 male chickens of 70 days of age were fattened for 42 days with feed containing 0, 15, 30, 45 or 60% broken rice, replacing corn in the same amounts. Chickens fed a diet containing 60% broken rice had a lower average daily feed intake and a better feed conversion ratio than those in the other groups (p<0.05). Abdominal fat production in the groups with broken rice was higher with 30% than that of the other groups (p<0.05). The weights of carcass, thighs + legs + feet, breast, backbone and gizzard did not differ between groups (p>0.05).
