The purpose of this article is to analyze the literature of the last five years to provide a perspective on the development of qualities for life in teachers. The research design is a literature review with a qualitative approach in which the systematic literature review technique was used in Scopus, Scielo, Redalyc, Dialnet, Proquest, Erih Plus, DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals), Latindex, the library and the Universidad César Vallejo. The systematic literature review was based on the PRISMA methodology, with inclusion criteria for selection: publications based on a scientific methodology, by a single author or by several authors, published from 2019 to 2023 and as keywords: human qualities for life, human skills, competencies and/or skills. Objective: The research aims to analyze how this knowledge, especially Taptana, has been incorporated into educational systems during the last four years.. Theoretical Framework: This systematic review examines the integration of ancestral knowledge in education, focusing on the use of the Taptana Cañari, a mathematical instrument of the Cañari people in Ecuador. The work highlights the importance of ancestral knowledge, which encompasses cultural practices and knowledge transmitted over generations, in a context where globalization threatens its relevance. El estudio se orienta al empleo del Método Taptana Cañari para desarrollar cualidades humanas en profesores que laboran en una unidad educativa de Cuenca, Ecuador, concibiéndose en concordancia con el Objetivo de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) 4: Educación con un objetivo de calidad. El objetivo fue comprender el impacto de la implementación del Método Taptana Cañari en la formación de cualidades humanas para la vida en docentes. Se utilizó un enfoque cualitativo mediante la investigación acción que involucró a 25 profesores como participantes. Los instrumentos de recolección de información incluyen diarios de campo, guías de entrevistas y cuestionarios, los cuales posibilitaron observar importantes rasgos de la enseñanza.
