Rupture of the common calcaneal tendon is a common injury in dogs, primarily due to traumatic causes. Several surgical techniques have been described as treatments for these injuries, the main objective being to restore adequate tensile strength to support body weight. Because the tendon is poorly vascularized and constantly subjected to tension, the healing process is often complex and time-consuming. Providing postoperative stability is vital for achieving proper healing. Various joint fixation methods have been used, but these are often associated with complications due to prolonged use. The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of Brucella canis in a population of stray canines using different diagnostic techniques available in Chile and to evaluate their level of concordance. Blood samples were taken and the testicles of 30 stray canines from a sector of the eastern zone of the city of Talca were collected, which were part of a sterilization campaign by the Chilean government. To consider an individual positive for B. canis, at least two positive serological techniques were considered.
