Durante los últimos años las redes sociales y las aplicaciones para dispositivos móviles (APP) han revolucionado la comunicación y facilitado las actividades diarias. Ello es reflejado en el creciente número de usuarios de smartphones y tablets. Asimismo, según The Pew Research Center's Internet & American Life Project, el 18% de adultos mayores (AM) son propietarios de un Smartphone. Actualmente, debido al crecimiento demográfico respecto a la población adulta mayor, el número de comorbilidades se encuentra en crecimiento y ha resultado ser un reto importante para el manejo, cuidado y seguimiento de la salud.

El presente estudio de investigación determina los factores de riesgo que se podrían asociar en esta población portadora de conmutaciones del gen EGFR, generando una base de datos y sería el primer reporte a nivel nacional en este campo de estudio. De esta manera, se podría actuar en aquellos factores de riesgo modificables e identificar a los pacientes que serán resistentes al tratamiento. El amplio campo en la investigación molecular y adelanto de nuevos tratamientos dirigidos en cáncer de pulmón, permite brindar constantemente mejores resultados a los pacientes e identificar otros posibles tratamientos en este subgrupo de pacientes.

Objective: To determine the association between depression and functional dependence in elderly patients of the Centro Geriátrico Naval (Peruvian naval medical center for elderly people). Materials and methods: A retrospective, cross-sectional, analytic study conducted from a secondary data analysis, with a convenience sample size of 625 elderly people. Results: In the linear regression analysis which predicts functional dependence according to the Barthel Index, it was found that, for each point in the Yesavage questionnaire, the Barthel Index score decreases 4.8±1.82 points and, for every 5 points, it decreases 29.99±3.62 points. Objective: In Peru, the 80 year old and older population is increasing and cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death. The aim of the study was to analyze the cardiovascular risk factors in octogenarians. Material and Methods: This is a descriptive, observational, cross prevalence research, conducted in March 2015 in Lima. Aquestionnaire on cardiovascular risk factors was used; blood pressure, weight, height and body mass index, in people 80 years of age or older. Objetive: Determine in a population of non-smokers, smokers and former-smokers, the level of knowledge of the health risks that smoking generate. Material and Methods: An epidemiological, observational, descriptive and cross-sectional research, was conducted in September 2015 in the city of Lima and Callao. Asurvey of over 18 was applied. Participants were divided into three groups, smokers, former-smokers and non-smokers. Results: The study included 2270 subjects, 744 were smokers, 752 former-smokers and 774 non-smokers. The group that mostly associated the tobacco to many diseases was the group of former-smokers, 53.8% of them mentioned to lung cancer as the most common disease related to tobacco.
