The COVID-19, in the scant six months of its presence, has caused a global health crisis, with greater impact in the poorest countries. Currently, there is a better understanding of the clinic of this disease and its relationship with physiopathological phenomena; however, given the high lethality, the major focus of its management has been oriented towards the hospitalized or critical patient. This information and experience is shared in order to achieve and strengthen better care for people affected by COVID-19 from their first symptoms at home, especially at these times of extensive community transmission, where health services are seriously limited in human and material resources. It is impossible, for now, to know which person in a mild state will develop a high viral load or have a predisposition to develop an extreme response from the immune system, but early treatment in mild cases would not only guarantee greater efficacy, but would avoid severe cases. Currently, there are no double blind, randomized clinical trials or meta-analyzes available to make safe decisions; meanwhile, the pandemic is advancing in our country, generating pain and death. In this context, in Peru, scientific societies have expressed the need for the use of antiviral drugs, even with little evidence, based on the probability of success prior to treatment, for their in vi...
