El 30 de noviembre del 2009, Michael Porter pronunció laconferencia “Competitividad: Una nueva estrategia económica para el Perú”; en ella, este destacado experto hizo un minucioso análisis de la importancia de la competitividad para un país en el mundo actual y sobre el estatus del país respecto de los diversos factores que lo hacen competitivo. El presente artículo recoge argumentos y opiniones tanto del mismo Porter como de otros expertos, acerca de las ideas expresadas en la conferencia y otros conceptos sobre competitividad. Finalmente, se señalan técnicas y herramientas que el ingeniero industrial puede usar para hacer del Perú un país más competitivo.

The objective of the research is to establish the bases for the standardization of the Peruvian population clothing sizing by means of op­timizing resources, processes and supply, adjusted to the satisfaction of the market needs. Surveys of entrepreneurs, interviews with experts and an­thropometric measurements revealed important results. Based on interna­tional standards and expert recommendations, 28 body measurements were carried out, achieving a method for taking manual body measurements.

El objetivo de la investigación es establecer las bases para la normalización del tallaje de la población peruana al optimizar recursos, procesos y oferta, alineados a la satisfacción de las necesidades del mer­cado. Encuestas a empresarios, entrevistas con expertos y mediciones an­tropométricas revelaron resultados significativos. Basados en estándares internacionales y recomendaciones de expertos, se realizaron 28 medicio­nes corporales, con lo cual se logró un método para la toma manual de medidas corporales.

The purpose of the study was to provide a referential framework to manage risks in the supply chain through a bibliographic review, in such a way that the inherent risks in companies in the industrial sector can be reduced. The investigation was substantive to identify sources related to organizational risks and uncertainties were identified. Subsequently, a risk management approach is provided and subdivided into stages of risk identification, risk analysis; and risk control and monitoring. Among the techniques and instruments to manage risks, it is possible to use communication flows, the use of ERP system, and the method of association rules, among others.
