We have recently read the article by Chaung et al1 describing a case of SARS‐CoV‐2 and HCoV‐HKU1 coinfection. The HCoV‐HKU1 is also a member of the Betacoronavirus. In addition to other coronaviruses in different regions of the world, there is an increasing number of reports of coinfections in SARS‐CoV‐2/COVID‐19. Then, we would like to take the opportunity to discuss some of them,1-10 as there are not yet reviews on this emerging issue of COVID‐19. Currently, the evidence suggests that the coinfection rates between SARS‐CoV‐2 and other respiratory pathogens would be higher than initially expected, which represents a challenge for the diagnosis and treatment.

Immunization is one of the most important advances in medicine, achieving protection against numerous microorganisms that have put the health of the population at risk for centuries and is currently one of the main health prevention strategies; Recently, with the appearance of COVID-19, a before and after has been marked, since vaccination has regained visibility and importance after the pandemic. However, despite the available evidence, there is limited dissemination and promotion of vaccination in the adult, a situation that generates low coverage in this population. The current global context sets an urgent call to strengthen the implementation of vaccination plans and strategies not only in the pediatric population, but also in the adult population, so the objective of this narrative review is to synthesize the current recommendations for vaccination in the population. from Colombia ...

Objective: To develop a narrative synthesis on polycythemia, a prevalent condition that poses diagnostic challenges in primary health care. Materials and methods: A non-systematic literature review was conducted using six databases (PubMed, SCOPUS, ScienceDirect, SciELO, Redalyc, and Google Scholar), covering publications from January 2005 to December 2024. Result: Polycythemia is an underdiagnosed blood hyperviscosity condition with high prevalence and a strong association with cardiovascular events, particularly in cases of polycythemia vera and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Conclusion: This review provides a practical approach for early etiological diagnosis and timely treatment of polycythemia. The proposed algorithm optimizes resource use in primary care and may reduce diagnostic delays, improving clinical decision-making.

The outcome was assessed at three months in each cohort and was defined as the change in pain intensity according to the visual analog pain scale. The comparison between cohorts and the effectiveness of the intervention was evaluated through repeated measures analysis with the generalized estimating equation. Results: a total of 1451 patients with pain were selected, of these, only 94 met the inclusion criteria.
