In current times, and with regard to extractive metallurgy, the use of new technologies for the recovery os values that can be present in minerals or in their concentrates and which can be hardly extracted by means of conventional technologies are shown special interest. One of these new technologies is bacterial leaching. In the present work, the theoretical aspects of bacterial leaching are made known, remarking on the importance of the mechanism involved in the biooxidation of Fe(II) towards Fe(III). Experimental aspects are also mentioned, such as the methodology followed in biohydrometallurgical processes. To that effect, results of tests carried out in the laboratory are presented, with which we can better outline the interest that the use of biological systems in the recovery of metallic values arouses.

Mejora la capacitación a través de la optimización del área de trabajo con el uso eficiente de la técnica 5S´s. Para tal fin se implementó la técnica 5S´s en el Laboratorio de máquinas y herramientas de la Facultad de Ingeniería Industrial de la Universidad Nacional mayor de San Marcos - UNMSM. La técnica 5S´s es una técnica operativa de gestión de operaciones. Tiene una estructura metodológica y sistémica, aplica la estrategia de mejora continua. Aborda el aspecto referido a la organización del área de trabajo. La fortaleza de técnica 5S´s radica en la sencillez y efectividad de su aplicación. El impacto de la organización de las áreas de trabajo se mide mediante el nivel alcanzado en la auditoria final: 73%, que registra 31% de mejora respecto a la calificación inicial.
