Cashibococha lagoon was studied during 2001 year. Three stations were bimonthly sampling. Cashibococha have greenish to brownish colour water, pH between 6 to 6,8, Conductivity 10 to 30 µS.cm-1 , Transparency 21 to 59 cm and Total Alkalinity 14 to 22 mg CaCO3 / L. Surface temperature were between 24,4 and 37° C and Dissolved Oxygen 1,3 and 7,4 mg / L. Bacteriological analysis report 350 to 3600 CFU / mL for mesophilic aerobic bacteria and 3 to 43 NMP / 100 mL for total Coliforms. A total of 47 species of Freshwater Macrophytes were recorded and mayor diversity was associated with inundation of the forest period (octubre − noviembre). A total of 52 phytoplankton species were found, Chlorophyta Division was the dominant and Actinastrum hantzschi, Spirogyra sp., Eudorina elegans, Pandorina morum y Closterium kuetzingui were the principal species. Biological characterization of fisheries is essential for an adequate use and management. From February 1999 to January 2000 length-weight ratio, global sexual proportion, egg laying season, mature length, and feeding habit data were recorded from 250 specimens of Cichla monoculus "tucunaré". The standard length (SL) - eviscerated weight (SL-EW) ratio is isometric for both males and females with a joint relation EW = 0,0184* SL 3,0963. Global sexual proportion is near 1:1. Egg laying is during the Ucayali river wet season (October-January). Calculated mature length for females is about 26,5 cm SL and it is proposed as catch length for regulatory purposes. De febrero de 1999 a enero del 2000 se analizaron 250 ejemplares de Cichla monoculus "tucunaré" provenientes de Pucallpa y Yarinacocha, para conocer sus características biológico pesqueras que conlleven a su adecuado manejo y utilización. Se obtuvo la relación longitud-peso, proporción sexual global, época de desove, talla de madurez y alimentación. La relación Longitud Estándar (LE)-Peso Eviscerado (PE) es isométrica para ambos sexos, hallándose la ecuación conjunta (PE 0,0184*LE3,0963) La proporción sexual global es cercana a 1:1. La época de desove coincide con la creciente del río Ucayali (octubre-enero). La talla de madurez para las hembras es calculada en 26,5 cm de LE, proponiéndose esta talla para el manejo de su pesquería en Ucayali. La pesca comercial en la Región Ucayali, se desarrolla mayormente en Pucallpa y Yarinacocha. En el 2008 IMARPE inició el monitoreo de: Hypophthalmus marginatus (maparate), Mylossoma duriventre (palometa), Prochilodus nigricans (boquichico), Psectrogaster rutiloides (chiochio), Triportheus angulatus (sardina) y Potamorhina altamazonica (llambina). En el 2010 la captura total en Pucallpa fue 1.813 t, (0,1% flota fresquera, 99,9% flota congelera), en Yarinacocha hasta julio fue 115,6 t, (31,8% flota fresquera, 68,2% flota congelera). La red hondera al desembarque aportó 77% en Pucallpa y 33% en Yarinacocha. La CPUE fue 0,20 y 0,34 t/viaje para fresqueros y de 0,72 y 0,64 t/viaje para congeleros de Pucallpa y Yarinacocha, respectivamente.
