This study analyzes various macroeconomic factors related to trade openness that influence Total Factor Productivity (TFP) from 2000 to 2019 in a global comparative perspective between the developed countries of Asia and Europe and the developing countries of America. Latin. The econometric method used is Feasible Generalized Least Squares for a sample of 16 countries from each mentioned group. The results indicate that, for advanced economies, manufacturing exports, input imports and Foreign Direct Investment have a positive and significant effect on TFP, while for developing economies only exports of manufactured goods and Foreign Direct Investment have a positive and significant effect. La presente investigación tiene por objetivo estudiar las relaciones entre los términos de intercambio, la balanza comercial y la inflación en Perú durante el periodo 1999-2018. Usando datos mensuales obtenidos del Banco Central de Reserva del Perú se estima un modelo de vectores autorregresivos (VAR) y modelo de vectores de corrección de errores (VECM). Las funciones impulso-respuesta resultantes muestran una respuesta no significativa de las variaciones del índice de precios al consumidor frente a impulsos en la balanza comercial y una rápida dilución de los shocks inflacionarios, ambos efectos atribuibles a la efectividad de la política monetaria del Banco Central de Reserva.
