Increasing generation of organic and agriculture residues as a product of both human activities and poor final disposal of these residues, leads us to think on new techniques to improve environmental quality and population income. Organic residues have a potential economic value as a row material for bio digesters minimizing at the time environmental pollution. This study tests the feasibility of bio fertilizer and bio gas production in bio digesters using cattle manure and organic residues from the dining room of La Molina Agrarian University. Bokashi pretreatment method used for this test, consists of applying beneficial microorganisms for degrading organic waste. The present investigation was a project selected in 2003 that aimed to implement and evaluate the comprehensive wastewater management system in the urban community of Lacabamba, Ancash region, by using the artificial wetland system to treat water and its reuse. in a communal bio-garden, as an innovative technology to reduce contamination of surface water sources; protect the health of the inhabitants and avoid deterioration of the environment; as well as involving the population in its 2015 Sustainable Development Plan for the Lacabamba district and actively participating in the awareness-raising and training programs of the Research project. Se evaluó el comportamiento y eficiencia de un reactor UASB de 1 m3 alimentado con aguas residuales de la crianza intensiva de cerdos, y se buscaron valores para los parámetros tiempo de retención hidráulico (TRH) y velocidad de carga orgánica (VCO) que orienten el diseño de instalaciones industriales. Con este fin, el reactor se operó bajo diferentes TRH. La eficiencia del reactor UASB en la remoción de DQO total y de sólidos suspendidos totales (SST) estuvo condicionada por la VCO y TRH aplicados, así como por la concentración de SST en el influente. Aplicando un tiempo de residencia hidráulico de 4 días (VCO promedio de 1,6 kg.m-3.d-1), el reactor UASB alcanzó una eficiencia promedio de remoción de DQO total de 77,4 %. The Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos and its Research Institute IIGEO, through fulfilling their vision, mission and social responsibility, are co-relating institutional efforts with local governments through framework and specific agreements, such as in the case of the Municipality of Lacabamba. Through this article we show how the sharing research of a multidisciplinary and local population team allowed the carrying out of the agreed strategic planning, the identification of the projects portfolio, citizen’s consultancy, participative budget, projects profile, local participants’ capacities strengthening, among several other deliverable items.
