The aim of this study is to present a case in which after the endodontic treatment failed, a cystic lesion was observed in periapical area. The present case concerns a 39 years old female patient without relevant medical history, attended SERODU dental clinic, on clinical examination during the palpation the presence of a soft consistency tumefaction that would be affecting the integrity bone tissue, without symptomatology. The pulp vitality tests turned out to be negative. A radiolucidal shadow compatible with chronic periapical lesion affecting 11 and 12 teeth was observed during the radiographic examination. Expone los resultados entorno al hecho científico del riesgo de deserción en los estudiantes bajo condiciones de pobreza, empleando para darle solución un conjunto de métodos científicos en función de la prevención del riesgo de deserción en la Universidad Técnica de Manabí. Elabora una estrategia a partir de las mediciones iniciales en el objeto de investigación y posteriormente se validó a través de un preexperimento donde se demostró la validez de la estrategia al poder convertir las debilidades en fortalezas y las amenazas en oportunidades, reduciendo así el riesgo de deserción.

   The article reports the case of a 53-year-old male patient, who went to the Clinic of University Dental Services (SERODU), in Ecuador, for presenting a gingival smile. He had no relevant medical history. He was diagnosed with a gingival enlargement of teeth 1.1, 1.2 and 2.1 and was treated with high intensity diode laser gingivoplasty. After 15 days of control, good healing was observed and the patient stated that he had no postoperative pain.The objective of this clinical case is to show the benefits of the high intensity diode laser, for the treatment of gingival enlargement and thereby achieve a better aesthetic perception of the upper anterior teeth.

The objective of this case report is to assess the use of autologous bone graft and platelet-rich fibrin (FRP), as guided bone regeneration, after the extraction of a retained canine. A 42-year-old female patient, with a history of controlled hypertension, attended the SERODU dental clinic (Ecuador), due to the presence of prominence in the left nasolabial region. A Computerized Axial Tomography (CT) was performed, in which tooth 1.3 included in the maxilla was observed, in a horizontal position, the crown mesially and the root distally. The clinical examination shows no pain to percussion, presents discomfort in the region of the third molars at the level of the gum versus palpation.
