Esta tesis doctoral tuvo como objetivo modelar una propuesta pedagógica basada en estrategias metacognitivas para desarrollar aprendizaje profundo en la elaboración de casos clínicos realizados por estudiantes de odontología en una universidad privada de Lima. Se siguió un paradigma interpretativo y sociocrítico, de enfoque cualitativo y de investigación científico aplicada educacional. La población estuvo conformada por estudiantes de VIII ciclo. Se diseñaron y validaron los instrumentos: guía de entrevista a estudiante, cuestionario de estrategias metacognitivas y la rúbrica de evaluación del proceso de elaboración del caso clínico. El curso de Odontopediatría plantea el manejo integral del paciente pediátrico; siendo necesario que el profesional en formación maneje la conducta del paciente.El manejo de conducta en Odontopediatría se refiere al conjunto de técnicas que se emplean en la atención al paciente pediátrico, que facilitan su colaboración y tratamiento.Para fomentar las competencias de este manejo en los estudiantes de manera eficiente, los docentes debemos enseñarlas y practicarlas paralelamente a los contenidos académicos y después transferir ambos aprendizajes a la solución de problemas complejos.El docente universitario debe saber identificar como aprenden y procesan la información sus estudiantes, como es el caso de la generación Z.Estos estudiantes esperan docentes flexibles y abiertos que los asesoren y ayuden a alcanzar sus propias metas, que además se adapten a sus preferencias, tal ...

Objective: to present the current concepts of Minimal Intervention Dentistry with an emphasis on minimizing the restoration cycle. Materials and methods: a bibliographic search of articles in English and Spanish was carried out in databases: Pubmed, with the words: dental caries, minimal invasive dentistry; Also, Google Scholar search was used with the keywords: dental caries, minimal intervention dentistry, tooth structure and dental remineralization in articles published between 2016 and 2020.  Results: the sample consisted of 40 scientific publications, including a literature review, systematic reviews and meta-analysis, case reports, complete original articles referring to deciduous and mixed dentition, and minimal intervention treatment alternatives. ABSTRACT Objective: The objective of this study was to determine the level of knowledge about oral cancer of third, fourth and fifth year students of the professional career of dentistry at the Southern Scientific University in 2020. Materials and methods: A questionnaire was carried out on knowledge of oral cancer to 166 students who were in the third, fourth and fifth year of dentistry. This questionnaire consisted of 24 multiple-choice questions about epidemiology, etiopathogenesis, diagnosis, treatment and complications. Results: A significant association was found between the level of knowledge about the etiopathogenesis of oral cancer and the year of study. Conclusion: Third-year students had the highest percentage in relation to the level of knowledge about etiopathogenesis.

Methods: 121 articles were revised from the databases Pubmed, Cochrane library, Ebsco, Scielo and Google Scholar. Systematic reviews, meta analysis, randomized clinical trials and clinical guides were prioritized in the search, with a publish date not greater than 5 years. After the final review and selection, 45 articles were used.
