He aquí una visión personal de la vida y obra de quien hoy en día es considerado como el santo patrono de los científicos. Alberto Magno fue un religioso católico ávido por entender la naturaleza de todas las cosas. Fue autor de diversas obras filosóficas y teológicas, pero tambiénde tratados sobre minerales, biología, física e incluso de alquimia. Vivió en la Europa del siglo XIII y ya entonces defendía los principios del método científico.

The years 2016 and 2017 have allowed consolidating the position and importance of the Peruvian Chemistry Olympiad as an activity that encourages the study of chemistry and the desire to improve in today's students. Although 2016 ended with good results at the international level, the successes achieved in 2017 have overshadowed them: one gold and one bronze medals in the IChO 2017 and one gold and three silver medals in the OIAQ. Nationally, the Peruvian Chemistry Olympiad (OPQ) has maintained the high level of enrollment and in 2017 we have again exceeded two thousand participants.

The chemical analysis of the meteorites considered to resemble closely the primordial matter which led to the formation of the Earth indicates that the concentration of xenon gas in our atmosphere is lower than expected. It seems that this deficiency is related to the noble gases’ solubility in the oxygen vacancies present in the perovskite structure of magnesium silicate, MgSiO3, the main constituent of the Earth’s mantle.

Esta editorial se centra en el principal problema ético que ha sacudido el ámbito de la investigación científica en el Perú: la compra de autorías en publicaciones por pseudocientíficos que buscan engañar tanto a sus empleadores, lectores y estudiantes, con hojas de vida falsas en infladas. Estas graves faltas de ética sientan un pésimo ejemplo a los jóvenes investigadores y dañan la integridad científica.
