Se reporta el caso de una niña de 5 años de edad que acude al servicio de Cirugía Oral y Maxilofacial de la clínica dental de la Facultad de Estomatología de la Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia. Lima Perú. Por presentar secuela de tratamiento de labio leporino por múltiples intervenciones quirúrgicas anteriores (6 veces) sin éxito. El tratamiento se realizó en dos fases: I fase ortopédica, consistió en ampliar y alinear el arco superior mediante el uso de expansor maxilar,conseguido el espacio se posiciona la pre-maxila colocando un dispositivo extraoral para retracción de la pre-maxila. II fase quirúrgica se plantean tres sesiones quirúrgicas, en la primera sesión: la queiloplastía secundaria con decolamiento amplio hasta los malares casi y las zonas maxilares, y la liberación prolija de los bordes cicatrizales de los hemilabios producto de las anteriores operacion...

We report the case of a 49-year-old patient with morbid obesity in whom a hydatid cyst in the left ventricle was detected by means of a thoracic CT scan. The cyst was excised through a left submammary thoracothomy without using extracorporeal circulation. Pathological anatomy studies evidenced the presence of scolices on the hydatid membrane. After being followed-up for one year, the patient does not have any cardiac-respiratory symptom, and there is no evidence of cardio-thoracic hydatidosis.
