Trans-gender population is considered at high risk for HIV infection due to multiple factors. AHF Peru works with trans-female population since 2013, and since 2017, has implemented a “friendly” external consultant for Trans- female patients at Arzobispo Loayza National Hospital (HNAL), with a high impact in the attention of the HIV Trans-Female population.

La investigación se propone definir el concepto de responsabilidad social empresarial y su importancia para la sociedad en general; analizar el valor del marco legal como mecanismo promotor de la agenda de la responsabilidad social en el Perú y la conveniencia de lograr un adecuado balance entre la necesidad de reforma legal y el tema de la autorregulación; examinar detalladamente los mecanismos legales de carácter tributario, laboral y ambiental, y proponer posibilidades de reformas dentro de la legislación peruana con el fin de promover la responsabilidad social; así como identificar y analizar mecanismos alternativos o complementarios de aquellos de carácter legal, que surgen a partir del tema de la autorregulación.

Introduction: Zika is an emerging arboviral disease that entered Peru in 2016, associated with congenital malformations and neurological complications. Objective: To analyze the incidence and distribution of Zika and identify complications in pregnant women in Peru during the 2016–2023 period. Materials and methods: Observational, descriptive study based on secondary data from the national epidemiological surveillance system. Annual incidence rates (AIR) and average annual incidence rates (AAIR) were calculated by age group, sex, and geographic region. Results: A total of 4529 confirmed cases were reported (national AAIR: 2.62 per 100,000 population), with an epidemic peak in 2019 (AIR: 11.03 per 100,000). El objetivo del presente trabajo fue evaluar en una muestra de gays y lesbianas, las emociones que experimentaron en su primera relación sexual, así como la relación con el uso de condón, planeación, concenso y edad del debut sexual. Participaron 336 hombres y mujeres, quienes respondieron en línea el cuestionario de Emociones, Estrés y Afrontamiento y algunas preguntas adicionales sobre su primera relación sexual. Se encontraron diferencias significativas en las emociones que experimentan hombres y mujeres, y entre aquellos que usaron condón, planearon y consensuaron su primera relación sexual. Los resultados se discuten en términos de cómo las emociones pueden afectar la vida sexual de gays y lesbianas.

The objective of the present work was to evaluate in a sample of gays and lesbians, the emotions they experienced in their first sexual relationship, as well as the relationship with condom use, planning, consensus and age of sexual debut. 336 men and women participated, who responded online the Emotions, Stress and Coping questionnaire and some additional questions about their first sexual relationship. Significant differences were found in the emotions experienced by men and women, and among those who used a condom, they planned and agreed on their first sexual relationship. The results are discussed in terms of how emotions can affect the sex life of gays and lesbians.

Bare maghemite nanoparticles (Nps), binary, and ternary magnetic nanocomposites made with titanium dioxide (TiO2) and graphene oxide (GO) were synthesized by a facile and cheap coprecipitation chemical route, and used as magnetic nanoadsorbents to remove arsenite (As(III)) and arsenate (As(V)) from water. The structural, morphological, magnetic and surface properties were analyzed by XRD, TEM microscopy, FTIR and Raman vibrational spectroscopy, Mössbauer technique and N2 adsorption-desorption measurements. It was found that materials were composed of maghemite nanoparticles with crystallites diameters varying from 9 to 13 nm for bare Nps, binary and ternary nanocomposites, with these nanocomposites having a high percentage of maghemite phase (80%). Introduction: Critical illness myopathy (CIM) and polyneuropathy (CIP) are the most common cause of acquired weakness in intensive care units (ICU). However, its exact pathogenesis remains unclear. Abnormal excitability of muscle due to a sodium channelopathy is one of the mechanisms proposed. The aim of this study is to test for the presence of anti-ganglioside antibodies in serum from patients with CIM or both combined CIM/CIP, since there is evidence that they can cause reversible dysfunction of voltage-gated sodium channels.Methods: In a prospective way, we studied 35 patients admitted in ICU by weekly EMG. When positive spontaneous activity (PSA) was detected, a muscle biopsy was performed. Twenty patients met criteria of CIM; five of them also developed overlapping CIP.
